Wind Forever

Thoughtful listeners to this album will recognize the elemental nature of many of the songs. The first of these is “Wind Forever” which, along with “The Sun”, “Who’s Gonna Make It Rain?” & “Here Is The Earth”, would form the foundation of the Weather Songs segment of some of my favorite live performances.

The intention was to recreate the feeling of a full moon ritual I’d experienced in the Nevada desert which was led by Lasara Firefox the night before we were to arrive at the test site where a nuclear test was planned for the next day.

Lyrics

WIND FOREVER

Hey baby
I’m blowin’
How ’bout goin’ with me
I got no money
and what I got I oughtta save
Let’s spend it, babe.
‘Cause the good times are right here right now
How long can they last?
Let’s go

There’s a big sun
up above us
up above us
everyday
Getting closer
Can you feel it?
Come on baby,
whaddya say?
‘Cause the good times are right here right now
How long can they last?
Forever
There’s wind forever
Forever
There’s wind forever

I don’t need ya
I don’t need ya
I can make it on my own
but please take care of the body
while I’m gone

Well there’s secrets
in the desert
and there’s secrets
in me
and I’m searching
at the bottom
at the bottom of this empty sea
and the good times are right here right now
How long can they last?
Forever
There’s wind forever
Forever
There’s wind forever

The good times are right here right now
How long can they last?
