Bland’s Last Stand
When confronted by one of the boys who was told about his crush Dennis makes the unfortunate decision to stand up for himself.
One of the biggest inlfuences on “UnPop…” is The Kinks album “Schoolboys In Disgrace”. This one in particular draws its chord progression from the song “I’m In Disgrace” off that record.
Lyrics
Bland’s Last Stand
Well I’ll give you one chance
If you take it that’s cool
If you don’t I’ll see you after school
I may not look it
but I’m a bad one
Born crooked
under a black sun
and if you mess around with me it won’t be much fun for you
Because I’ve seen your kinda type before, man
Used your face to wipe the floor and
each time I’m asking,
“Lord, how many more
will you send me
to be handled
to be humbled
like a candle
that you snuff out roughly
nose down in the ground?”
How does that sound?
So I guess it’s time for the fisticuffs
‘Cause you think you’re so damned tough
Just don’t blame me when the going gets rough
I may not look it
but I’m a bad one
Born crooked
under a black sun
and if you mess around with me
I can guarantee that if you mess around with me
I can guarantee that if you mess around with me
you’d be better off to run
