Sarah Silverman
We wrote this one before Sarah Silverman was a star, but she was well on her way.
I loaned her my guitar at an anti-war protest at The Roxy in the fall of 2000. Andy was doing comedy there and I got to play my own set since plenty of the songs off “A Curmudgeon For All Seasons” were actually on topic. Hanging out backstage with Andy and Sarah and Odenkirk and Cross (and I’m pretty sure Patton Oswalt was there as well) was a scene I’ll never forget. Silverman’s raunchiness backstage was well beyond anything I’d ever heard her, or really any woman ever say. It was powerful and a little terrifying. I am honored by the experience.
When it was Sarah’s turn to go on she asked if anyone had a guitar she could use and I offered her mine.
She said, “I owe you one”.
Um…Sarah…where and when can I collect on this note?
Lyrics
SARAH SILVERMAN

Sarah
Are you as bad as you seem
The girl of my dreams
Oh Sarah
They say that you’re the thinking man’s sex symbol
but then I read that you share your bed
with The Man Show’s Jimmy Kimmel
and it don’t make sense
Aw sarah
You’re boyfriend’s a schlub
and that shows character
Oh but Sarah
Sarah
You’re just a trash talkin’ whore
the kind I adore
I dare ya
to entertain the possibility
that I was made for better things
and you were meant to be my
Sarah
