Action
Like we’re on a movie set, the record begins with “Action”.
The first time I played this song live, a friend told me he thought the “action” was a synonym for sex, like the singer in the song is angry at being denied. That is not what the song is about.
Since that first performance, I’ve made some subtle changes I hope will keep people from thinking about the song that way.
It’s really just about wanting greater integrity from the people who want us to believe in them.
